The Indiananpolis Star reports that some black leaders are alleging that:

"Blacks in Indy bemoan lack of candidate visits. Some say neither Obama nor Clinton has spent enough time in African-American neighborhoods."

In the article it states: 

 

A Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton have visited dozens of communities as they crisscross the state but have spent little time in Indianapolis' black neighborhoods.

Obama's absence, in particular, has been galling to some blacks, community leaders say.

"With 42 percent of the state's black voting population in Marion County, it does raise some eyebrows," said Amos Brown, host of the "Afternoons With Amos" show on WTLC-AM (1310).

IMR COMMENT: Lets examine black Indianapolis, aka Naptown, for a moment.

Only the black caucus members from Lake County were with Mr. Obama when he signed-up for the election at our statehouse in Indianapolis. The black caucus members from Indianapolis were not there, and nor was Andre Carson, implying their lack of support for Obama.  The support he is currently getting is 'anticipation' support; anticipating they'll have a windfall and that he'll deliver the Carson 'seed' for Andy Jacobs to reign over the 7th  Distrct for another generation.

 

Though many of us voters do, not many democrat party leaders have that warm and fuzzy feeling about Barack being the first black President of the United States, particularly those who support the local democrat/monarchy structure and Hillary Clinton.

 

In reality, the democrat leadership and the Marion County black caucus would rather have an Indiana politician as second in command than have a black man from Illinois 1st in command and 1st in American history, period. The former advances a severely beaten-down democrat party that lost the state, the largest city in the state, along with the ccc, and many other cities around the state. Winning the 7th Congressional District and the White House and they'll be back in the saddle--and we'll see the Ghetto Mafia advance to a level we've never seen in American history.

-Could it be that Obama woke-up and stopped drinking the local Democrat County party cool-aid that caused him to alienate himself from formidable qualified candidates in the 7th Congressional District race and their families and supporters? 

What about Hillary Clinton then, why would she stay away?

Perhaps Hillary's campaign is aware of local culture and felt the GOTV in black Indianapolis belonged to the local VP hopeful and the party leaders. Perhaps her using different marketing and media strategies in different cities with large black populations demonstrates her cultural awareness of the 'differences' in each local black community. Black Indianapolis, culturally, is very "unique" earning it the reputation among blacks around the United States as 'Naptown', implying a boring place for progressive blacks, a town where blacks are sleeping and slow to change. Perhaps Hillary's reliance on the party leaders implies black voters are going to simply do what they are 'told', irrespective of her more direct message to them.

Perhaps both candidates realize that no matter how much advertising you spend on the local black media, the same media outlet and those who pocket the advertising commission, will openly campaign against you during the last few days of the campaign, if local politics dictates. Of course, this is repugnant, but it's the black Indianapolis media.

Anyway, both candidate appear to be wise in how they are handling black Indianapolis.  They both have respectable levels of support from not only blacks, but the community as a whole.
